Arielle Tuliao is a Canadian-born American actor. She is known for If I Stay (2014), Her Story (2011) and Fatal Memories (2015).

Background

She began her journey into the entertainment industry when she started taking voice lessons in 2000 at Ed and Salve’s Music Studio, and has been in love with music and performing ever since. In high school she was heavily involved with Saint Thomas More Collegiate’s (then budding) Choir program, where she was consistently a featured soloist and Alto Section Leader. At 16, Arielle auditioned for Canadian Idol and made it to the Top 100, and was given the opportunity to audition for the judges in Toronto.

After winning the Canadian Pinoy Singing Idol title in 2007, Arielle took a break from singing to focus on acting. A graduate of Vancouver Film School’s “Acting for Film and TV” Program in 2009, Arielle was blessed with the opportunity to work and be trained by the likes of Matthew Lillard, Andrew McIlroy, and Larry Kent. In her final term she starred in the short film, “Come Home Soon,” directed by Matthew Lillard, working closely with him to tell the story of a young woman who lost her husband in the war.

Upon graduation, Arielle combined both her passions through performing Musical Theatre. Favourite credits include Dorothy in “The Wiz” (CTC 2011 Nomination for “Outstanding Performance by an Actress”), Dionne in “Hair”, and Maria in an abridged version of “A West Side Story”.

Career

Still, she considers 2011 the official start of her acting career. That year, Arielle went straight into filming for “Her Story” (2012 Leo Award for “Best Performance by a Female in a Short Drama”) after a month of playing Dorothy in “The Wiz”. It was then she decided to solely pursue a career in Film and Television. Since then, she has gone on to appear in “Fringe,” BBC America’s “Intruders,” and the feature film “If I Stay”!

Arielle also plays guitar and writes her own music, which she describes as “cheesy, sweet, pop love songs.” She has performed for YouTube sensations AJ Rafael, Jeremy Passion, and Gabe Bondoc. A huge Vancouver Canucks fan, she often appears in Clay Imoo’s Canuck song videos with local chanteuse Marie Hui.

Arielle was also heavily involved and influenced by Praise Team. With them she taught Jr. Choir, Musical Theatre, and Private Vocal Lessons, and studied Hip Hop, Locking, Popping, Waacking, Tap, and Contemporary. She also penned their year end productions from 2012 to 2015, co-directing with dance director Missy Reyes. She doesn’t often perform on stage, but when she does, you can bet it’s in support of her PT Fam!

Along with acting, Arielle is currently the administrative associate at Jeb Beach and Associates.
